Members of the SARCHI ME&F group contribute regularly to scientific working groups at DAFF:Fisheries, notably the EAF SWG (before it was disbanded in April 2014), SWG-PEL (and its task team on Island Closures, ICTT) and SWG-DEM.

The SARCHI ME&F group also hosts the Penguin Pressure Model Working Group, which started off, in 2010, as a Task Team under the DAFF EAF SWG. This is a multi-stakeholder forum concerned with developing methodology for the implementation of the Biodiversity Management Plan – African Penguin (Government Notice No. 36966.  Government Printer, Pretoria, 72pp.).

The peer-reivewed articles by Weller et al. (2014) and Ludynia et al. (2014) are products of this SARCHI ME&F – hosted working group.

Following on from the regular contributions to the work of government for a, in 2014, the SARCHI ME&F group was heavily involved in creating the documents contributing to an evaluation of penguin/fisheries interaction by an international panel reporting to DAFF:Fisheries. Although not every single document was co-authored by members of this lab, the work was facilitated by our Penguin Pressures Working Group. For coherence, the entire document list is provided here. The documents are ordered by reference number and can be obtained by contacting Prof Jarre.
