AOS Field Day

The AOS class spent Tuesday (17th April) at sea learning some of the fundamentals of measurement in real-world conditions. Click through for some images of the day. We trust students' sea legs are now stronger than before!

CTD comes up: an instrument to measure salinity (conductivity) and temperature at depth, i.e., basic hydrography. Colin also has a PAR sensor on: photosynthetically active radiation -- the amount of light available to phytoplankton do do primary production.
