The 30 th Annual South African Society for Atmospheric Science Conference will be held 2nd and 3rd October 2014 at North-West University – Potchefstroom Campus http://www.sasas.org.za/index.php/sasas-2014

The main aim of SASAS is to stimulate interest and support for all branches of the atmospheric sciences in Southern Africa. This includes meteorology, climatology, climate change, radar meteorology, data management, air quality, land-ocean-atmosphere interaction, hydrology, physical oceanography, agrometeorology, numerical modelling, and instrumentation. The list is not exhaustive and the society is what members make of it.

Our most important achievement is to organise an annual conference every year for the last 30 years, probably the longest lasting event of the kind in Africa. Best presentation, best student presentation and best poster are also rewarded with prize of R500 at the SASAS conference. Let’s grow our society and make it useful to its members. Best peer review paper is rewarded by a 3000 R prize

The immediate benefit of membership is that a member will save R200 at the SASAS conference while membership is only R60 (R30 for students).
