Ocean Sciences session on the Agulhas
August 16, 2013 at 9:47 am
Following the success of last year’s Chapman Conference on the Agulhas, we are convening a session at the AGU/ASLO/TOS Ocean Sciences Meeting (Honolulu, February 23-28, 2014) with similar aims, that is to bring together the broad community working on all aspects of the Agulhas Current System and its impacts — through modelling, hydrographic observations, satellite datasets, palaeoceanography, effects on local weather and global climate, ecological responses from microscopic biota to top predators. We particularly encourage speakers whose work spans disciplines or those who can summarise new fields in a manner for a broad audience. We might not be laying on any petanque or wine-tasting, but with your help this will still be a meeting to remember. Please forward to any colleagues who weren’t at Stellenbosch last year, but wish they had been.
